Sagada Rediscovered - September 27-29, 2008 - August 28, 2008 by admin

Sagada Rediscovered

September 27-29, 2008

Number of Slots: 12

Re-experience Sagada like never before.  Famous for its “hanging coffins” , burial caves, waterfalls and rice terraces, Sagada sits at a high kilometer and a half above sea level in central Cordillera surrounded by the Cordillera Ranges and the Ilocos Range.

A famous destination for backpackers, artists, and hippies since the 70s, now Sagada has grown to become a common favorite for many local tourists. Now solidly Anglican thanks to the Missionaries of the 60s, it is no wonder that the Igorots here are keen to communicate better in English to any visitor rather than in Filipino. Although fairly developed with its numerous Inns and internet cafés and growing population of foreigners, the town retains its peaceful culture which incidentally, over the years, has embraced and integrated tourism into the everyday life.

A backpackers paradise for many yet unmistakeably authentic in its own right, Sagada never tires to awe its visitors with its wonderful blend of natural wonders and western traits.

Join Cordillera Expeditions this September 26-29, 2008 as we rediscover this peaceful town. Experience the lively Saturday market, followed by quiet walks through pine-covered trails that open up to magnificent lookouts. Sleep under the stars next to the calm lapping of the lake, and visit the waterfalls and swim in the refreshing basins. Enter the caves and discover the hidden pools…and just live.
