Sagada Rediscovered

Re-experience Sagada like never before.  Famous for its “hanging coffins” , burial caves, waterfalls and rice terraces, Sagada sits at a high kilometer and a half above sea level in central Cordillera surrounded by the Cordillera Ranges and the Ilocos Range.

A famous destination for backpackers, artists, and hippies since the 70s, now Sagada has grown to become a common favorite for many local tourists. Now solidly Anglican thanks to the Missionaries of the 60s, it is no wonder that the Igorots here are keen to communicate better in English to any visitor rather than in Filipino. Although fairly developed with its numerous Inns and internet cafés and growing population of foreigners, the town retains its peaceful culture which incidentally, over the years, has embraced and integrated tourism into the everyday life.

A backpackers paradise for many yet unmistakeably authentic in its own right, Sagada never tires to awe its visitors with its wonderful blend of natural wonders and western traits.

Mayoyao: Ifugao Expedition

Explore the Village of Mayoyao in Ifugao together with Cordillera Expeditions. Located North of Banaue Mayoyao Ifugao offers you one of the oldest villages in the Cordillera Mountains. It is like many parts of the mountain region a feast for the eyes and the food for the spirit. Mayoyao has some of the most beautiful rice terraces in the mountain region and some of the friendliest locals that you will ever encounter in your travels.

Waterfalls, Rivers, Misty mornings, smiling children, magnificent stone terraces, and much much more, but we can only go so far in describing it on paper. The best way to experience Mayoyao is to be there yourself, and this August 8-10, 2008 Cordillera Expeditions will take you there!
