About The Facilitator
Carlo Claudio has been taking photographs since he was a teenager. He started with the
Canon FTQL which his father gave him. Shooting lots of film and attending seminars, as
well as doing a lot of reading on photography, he spent long hours and travelled to
different places to capture the images in his mind and the beauty that is unfolding in front
of him. After his AB Philosophy course at Ateneo de Manila, he managed the
transportation business of his family and in his free time travelled to different areas to
capture his passion. His work is a combination of different influences. The master
portraitist Bob Razon has contributed greatly to the way his subjects are lit in traditional
poses while the noted artist/creative director Rosscapili reinforced his creative style.
Spanish photographers Pablo Genoves and Alberto Garcia-Alix instructed him in Avant
Garde and dramatic portraiture, respectively. Still, he always tries to put his own mark in
his images. Equally at ease in both studio and location shooting, Carlo’s versatility
shows in his diverse subjects ranging from nature, people, interiors, landscapes, portraits,
and still life, among others. His clients include Supreme Court Justices Antonio T. Carpio
and Conchita Carpio Morales, The Philippine Army, Saud Beach Resort in Pagudpud,
International Christian Academy, local and international organizations and furniture
companies which export to the U.S. market. Carlo’s work has also been published in the
USA Today daily newspaper. In 2007, he won two 3rd Places of the same competition in
the CANON 7,107 Smiles photo contest bagging categories namely “nightscapes” and
“churches.” During the 2008 Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta-EPSON Photo Contest
Marathon, he took the “Best Entry” award for the first day. As the head of the Visual Arts/
Creative Club of Word for the World, he promotes love for art and teaches photography
enabling others to share his passion for creating dramatic images.
