Apo Reef, Mindoro

Mindoro, which is divided into Occidental and Oriental, is endowed with untouched and lush forests, pristine white sand beaches, popular dive spots, and an island that is just rich with marine life, including the famous wild tamaraws. The Oriental part of the province is most popular for the town of Puerto Galera. In fairness to Mindoro’s other half, it has made its mark with Apo Reef (proclaimed to be the best diving spot in Asia), Ambulong Island (a 3,000-hectare area of white sand beaches and underwater caves), Pandan Grande Island (an islet surrounded by white sand beach), and White Island (a one-mile stretch of white powdery sand).

Bonuan Blue Beach, Dagupan, Pangasinan

Located in the northern part of Central Luzon, the province of Pangasinan is most famous for being the second major rice grower in the country, its bagoong industry, and their bangus. But most importantly, Pangasinan is known for the world-famous Hundred Islands. Other than the beaches of this national park, Pangasinan is also known for Bonuan Blue Beach in Dagupan, the site wherein General MacArthur landed; Santiago Island in Bolinao, which is abundant in corals and shells, and an absolute haven for scuba divers; and White Beach in San Fabian.

Donsol, Sorsogon

The province is located in the southern part of Luzon and is fondly called the “Cowboy Country.” Sorsogon is famous for its isolated beaches and magnificent mountain peaks. The Bulusan Mountain Lake, which is at the center of an active volcano, is one of the province’s most popular attraction, but only after whale sharks were found in its waters. Whale sharks, which have been declared as endangered species, are most seen in Donsol. Rizal Beach, located in Gubat, is an ideal spot for swimming and boating. Tiklin Island, located in Matnog, is ideal for camping.
