When "Porteau" (porte d’eau) is translated from
French into English it means "Water’s Gate".
The Porteau Cove Provincial Park is located on the most southerly fjord in North America, on the eastern shore of Howe Sound. The park is a popular destination with scuba divers who explore old sunken ship wrecks, that in return attract an abundant marine life.
